The Need for Restructure
The intention of this blog is to inform my customers, supporters, fellow business owners as well as future business owners. The overall goal is to layout my experiences through my journey as the owner of a small business. Unfortunately, I am not a skilled blogger and I have made several mistakes along the way as to my selection in format and my choice of content. That will soon be changing.
You may (or may not) have noticed my lack of presence on my blog and other social media outlets over the past few months. This is not due to a sudden indifference to my business and it’s growth. But, mainly due to frustration. I believe in the power and necessity of social media, however I can’t for the life of me understand why it’s not working properly for me. The amount of time and money I spend investing in the promotion of my business has yielded very little reward. According to my calculations, I actually make a profit, the less I spend and even do.
Now this is not to say that I believe that I should just stop promoting myself and my company. There are plenty of roads that I’ve gone down that have proven to be profitable. What this does do, is force me to make better, more concise choices. And even step up my research. There are so many opportunities out there and I know that plenty of them are within my reach. But, it definitely takes a lot more than wishful thinking to get there. I’m making plans and setting new goals to get myself there.
During the year of 2012, Cake Seduction will be undergoing a restructure. My attempt is to put out a new blog and website. As well as re think our selections, pricing, and other miscellaneous items. There’s just so much that goes in to running a business and I think it’s time that they get figured out.
If you wish to visit our website, you will find this message stating that we will be limiting the amount of orders we process at a time. This message is meant to express that despite our hiatus, we will still remain in business. The restructuring just means that we’re taking a few steps back.
Message on website:
Thank you for taking the time out to visit Cake Seduction’s website.
We appreciate your continued support.
Over the next few months, we will be undergoing some restructuring of how business is executed and therefore will be limiting the amount of orders we will process at a time. Therefore, if you wish to place an order, please contact us directly so that we can inform you of our schedule. All orders will be processed on a first come, first serve basis so the sooner the better when placing your order.
Please continue to browse our website, blog, and fan page. While we may not be as active as usual, we do still monitor the activity and are always interested in receiving feedback.
If you would like to place an order, click here for further info on how to contact us.
I guess I should also point out that I don’t currently have a business plan and have been toying with the idea of creating one for the past 2 years. It’s not that I don’t think I need one, it’s more of a fear and frustration. I just can’t seem to get the proper words and information to form correctly on paper. The vision is there, and I’m aware of the steps I need to get me there, but when it comes time to answer the proper questions and explain my goals, I just get tongue tied. I’m thinking of taking a new approach and attacking this business plan from another angle. I hope this attempt works for me. (fingers crossed)
Okay, I think I’ve been a bit successful in expressing myself and the experience I’m going through. I guess I could be more descriptive in my plans and the issues I’ve faced, but hey, that’s what next time is for. I truly hope to up my blogging skills as 2012 is also my year of personal development. There are so many skills I wish to learn and plenty of changes going on in my life. I am so eager to see how this year ends for me.
Til next time!
